The Ann Arbor Huron River Rats are proud to be hosting the 2013 Men's Water Polo State Tournament. The event will be held on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 at Ann Arbor Huron High School, 2727 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
Parking:
There is reserved parking for coaches, officials and event staff near the Athletic entrance off Fuller Road.. Teams and guests should park in the outer lot near the tennis courts. Handicap parking is available near the entrance as well with a ramp to the Athletic Entrance for wheelchairs.
Tournament Information Center:
There will be a Tournament Information Center in the Rat’s Nest throughout the tournament for athletes, parents and visitors. The Rat’s Nest is located on the West end of the Pool concourse.
Tickets:
Ticket prices are $7 for adults; $5 for students each day and will be sold in the Athletic Lobby. Paid spectators will need to wear a tournament wristband to gain entrance to the pool concourse and seating area.. Tournament Programs will be available for $3.
Deck Passes:
Deck passes will be provided for all coaches, officials and event staff and one photographer per team. Photographers should check-in at the Tournament Information Center in the Rat’s Nest upon arrival to receive their pass.
Athlete Check-in:
Athletes should check in at the Tournament Information Center immediately upon their arrival to receive their Athlete Pass and Athlete Arrival gift. All athletes who check in must be listed on the roster submitted to the Tournament Planning committee and the official roster for the score table.
Team Hospitality Room:
Teams will have a reserved area in the cafeteria for downtime between games. There will be tables for meals and access to electrical outlets if needed. Players can follow the signs as they exit the pool deck. Parent chaperones can park their vehicles and unload food at the entrance to the cafeteria. (click here for a map).
Coaches and Officials Hospitality Room:
Located on the pool deck behind the score table. Food and beverages will be served throughout the entire tournament.
Spectator Seating:
There will be designated areas in the stands for guests of both teams, every game. Please exit the seating area immediately following your team's game so that the next group of spectators can be seated. Please note: seating will be on a first come bases. Overflow game viewing will be in the lower gym via live video feed.
Hotel:
The Hampton Inn Hotel, located three miles from Huron High School is the host hotel available for teams and families at favorable rates.
Tournament Program:
The tournament program will have one full page dedicated to each team with a team photo and roster and team logo. The rest of the program is open to businesses and organization advertisers and individuals who would like to honor a team or player.
T-Shirt:
A State Tournament T-shirt is available for pre-order. A limited number of T-shirts will be available for sale at the Tournament Information Center.
Concessions/Coffee:
Concessions will be available in the Huron Athletic Lobby. A complimentary coffee service will be available during the tournament in the Rat's Nest.
Video:
Memories in Motion Productions LLC will provide professional videography of all tournament games. There will be three high definition cameras in the pool viewing area and on deck to create game DVDs that are filmed from these different angles. DVDs of games will be available for purchase customized for your team. Order forms will be available in the Tournament Information Center. In addition, a live feed of the center camera will be projected in the lower gym for any overflow spectators or if spectators and players would like to watch games during the day outside the pool concourse and seating area. Admission wristband or athlete/coach deck pass required. Videotaping of games by spectators in the seating area is discouraged. Tripods set ups will not be permitted in the bleacher seating area, behind the rail or in the wheelchair access viewing areas.
USA Water Polo:
USA Water Polo has donated several items to honor the State Tournament. These items will be raffled off after Game 10 on Saturday. All athletes will receive one free raffle ticket at check-in. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at the Tournament Information Center: $2 per ticket or 3 for $5.
Vendor Shop:
A vendor shop, hosted by Sun and Snow featuring themed T-shirts, water sports gear and fan accessories will be open during the tournament in the Rat’s Nest.
